P is for Passion – and Photography

Throughout life, people have many different passions, hobbies and interests. These can change every month, or even every day, but some people have found a way to combine their greatest passions with their love for photos. One has to look no further than the abundance of food blogs, often full of food photography, to realise that combining an interest with photography just makes both things so much more rewarding.





Indeed, photography is a great way to explore your own interest in something from a different angle. Here, we’ll introduce three photographers who have combined their two greatest passions and turned it into their dream job.





Mark Horsburgh





Mark loves motorsports, so combining his passion for cars and racing with his love for photography was a no-brainer. He is now one of the best motorsports photographers in the country, and is the official V8 Supercars photographer, where he gets to enjoy the race, as well as photograph it in creative and innovative ways using his EOS DSLR Cameras. He’s also worked with manufacturers like Porsche, BMW, Audi, Mini, Volvo, Ford and Holden. You can see some of his work which he shared with Canon.





Stephen Dupont





With a passion for uncovering the stories of fragile cultures and marginalised peoples, Stephen Dupont has produced some of the most poignant reportage photographs in the country. "I try to capture the human dignity of my subjects, with intimacy – often in some of the world’s most dangerous regions," he says of his work. Chris McLennan





With an enviable job that almost anyone would want, Chris McLennan has combined his passion for travel and curiosity to learn more about the wonderful world around us with his passion for creating beautiful images of the different cultures and peoples he sees on his journeys. His inspiring work has captured the attention of national and international travel brands including the Discovery Channel, Starwood Hotels, Vail Resorts, Völkl Skis, Top Deck Tours, and Air New Zealand, just to name a few, thanks to his breathtaking photos taken with a variety of digital camera lenses and equipment.
