Baby on Board: Packing for a Trip

It’s the week before your road trip and it's time to pack up your nipper's things and get a bag ready to go. Maybe this is your first real trip with the little one and you’re just dumbstruck as you run through all the things you might possibly need for the weekend. Just take a deep breath – here are three important things you’ll want to keep in mind.





• First, all you need to remember is necessities! You’re going to want to take enough clothes in case of nappy blow-outs or meal-time fits. You’ll really only need two outfits per day, but make sure you bring a few bibs along. They take up less room than a full outfit and are great for protecting that adorable shirt you just bought. And speaking of meal times, you’ll need some containers for food storage whether it’s for leftovers from nights out or snacks for the day trips.





• The next thing to think of is where you’re staying and with whom. If you’ll be staying with friends or family it’s a good idea to bring along a play pen or play yard. That way you and your loved ones won’t be worried about little fingers and electricity sockets, ovens or pet bowls. And no matter where you’re staying, favourite toys are always a good idea!





• The last tip on the list is disposable items like diapers, wipes and baby formula or food. Those are easily purchased when you get to your destination. You may also find disposable bibs saving even more room in your luggage. So you don't take up too much room with consumables, consider buying those food storage containers for pre-measured portions of formula or food.
